Excellent camp to attend. If you have work in film or digital John teach general photography techniques such as image composition, depth of field, exposure, focusing techniques and more.
I went to his camp and everyone was real friendly. It doesn't matter it you're from the canon or nikon camp because the techniques you learn can be used for any digital SLR whether it be from Fujifilm or from Olympus.
My favorite part of the camp was the outdoor assignments. John would pick a subject or topic to shoot on and we would all go out around the city taking pictures. We would then regroup at the workshop and compare our shots on an overhead projector. This was the time we could all have a group discussion and critique our photos.
It was great fun and you can learn a lot from John and the other participants.
Be sure to bring a windbreaker, tennis shoes, water, and some snack food. For camera gear, bring a spare camera battery AND DO NOT FORGET YOUR CABLE to connect your camera to a computer. I almost did not get to show my pictures because I couldn't upload my pics to the computer. Luckily, someone else had the same camera as mine, but I wouldn't take the risk.

I forgot one thing. This session is for photography enthusiasts to pro skill levels. Beginners should have working knowledge of their digital SLRs.
